Local Painter Sponsors 2011 Reindeer Romp – Nolan Painting Inc
I have long been a community minded person but if there is one event that really brings it home for me, it’s the Reindeer Romp in Havertown. When I got involved 13 years ago it was to offer my help to the Romp committee.
I have long been a community-minded person but if there is one event that really brings it home for me, it’s the Reindeer Romp in Havertown. When I got involved 13 years ago it was to offer my help to the Romp committee. The Reindeer Romp was started the year before to raise money for the American Cancer Society and remember a young boy who had died from cancer.
I was informed that the committee had dissolved but I could “help get it going for this year.”
It was fun and rewarding and we raised a few thousand dollars for a great cause: cancer reserch. I have enjoyed being the Race Director and Presenting Sponsor ever since.
This past Dec. 11 was another great Romp. The weather was great this year unlike the last two years (Nor’easter and ice storm). We raised over $16,000 for the American Cancer Society and over 600 people participated. We have raised nearly $300,000 to date. The people of Nolan Painting make me proud; we had 30 employees volunteer again this year. I could not pull it off without the support of the sponsors, volunteers and a great committee.
The cause, community and the team work, especially the Nolan Painting team, make it the most special day of the year for me. We raise a lot of money, celebrate the community and remember a little boy who lost a battle with a terrible disease.
