Nolan Painting Values Highlight: Best Place to Work
At Nolan Painting, we aspire to be a Best Place to Work. It’s a commitment we make to our team members every day. Everyone at Nolan Painting is an employee and part of the team, not a subcontractor (see here to learn more about what this means and why it’s important to consider when hiring a contractor). We know that our team members have choices, and we want to make sure that choosing Nolan Painting is a great decision that serves them and their family well. That’s why we invest in our team’s well-being, offering competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a healthy work-life balance.
In 2004, we got serious about our commitment to being a great place to work and wanted to put a name to it. We took a “Best Places to Work” survey with the Greater Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce and the Great Places to Work Institute. It was a statewide contest and we were named the second-best place to work in all of Pennsylvania! Since then, we have continued to strive to be the Best Place to Work.
We are excited to announce that this year, Nolan Painting is honored to again be recognized as a Top Workplace in the Philadelphia region by the Philadelphia Inquirer! 2024 marks our 8th year running with this recognition based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC.
Being a “Best Place to Work” and all it embodies is part of our culture. Beyond good pay and benefits, we also have Free-Lunch Fridays for employees and Nolan Adventures, our company-sponsored employee and family outings. It’s also about more than just benefits—it’s about creating a culture where every team member feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. It’s about providing purpose, the right tools, and opportunities for growth and advancement.
One of the cornerstones of being the Best Place to Work is having great leadership. We know that the number one reason people leave their jobs is because they don’t like their boss. That’s why we prioritize training, development, and empathy among our leadership team. We believe that a great boss isn’t just someone who manages tasks—they’re someone who inspires, supports, and guides their team to collective success.
So, when employees join Nolan Painting, they’re not just joining a company—they’re joining a community built on the foundation of being the Best Place to Work.
