ANNUAL REINDEER ROMP PRESENTED BY NOLAN PAINTING TO TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11

2021 Romp is Dedicated To Our Late Friend and Supporter Matt Aber

100% Of The Event Proceeds Benefit The American Cancer Society

HAVERTOWN, PA – November 3, 2021: Havertown’s annual Reindeer Romp presented by Nolan Painting will take place on Saturday, December 11 at 3 pm. The 5k run/walk begins at Haverford High School and makes its way through the streets of Havertown.

This year’s Romp is dedicated to the longtime supporter of the Reindeer Romp, Matt Aber. Matt lost his father to cancer at a young age and when he was searching for how he could get involved with the American Cancer Society, he found the Reindeer Romp. Over the years, the Reindeer Romp became a big part of Matt and his family’s life, as he worked hard to support the race each year. Matt, along with his family and friends, has raised over $70,000 since he joined the race committee in 2000.  This year, Matt tragically received a cancer diagnosis on February 4 and died just 17 days later.

“Everyone just loved Matt and they would support him in any way they could,” said Matt’s wife Melanie. “When December came around everyone knew how important the Reindeer Romp was to him and they would donate. He really did a lot of fundraising to raise money and awareness for the Romp. Matt had a heart of gold and was a true, genuine, sincere man of integrity. Whatever he did, he did it with a lot of heart.”

Since 2000, Nolan Painting has been the presenting sponsor, and company CEO Kevin Nolan serves as the Race Director and Event Organizer. The Reindeer Romp is part of “Nolan in the Neighborhood,” a community initiative supporting local organizations and events throughout the Philadelphia area. The team at Nolan Painting works hard to be one of the companies in the Philadelphia region that gives back consistently throughout the year.

“We are truly saddened by the sudden loss of our friend and supporter Matt Aber,” said Kevin Nolan. “He was such an influential advocate for the Reindeer Romp. That’s why this year’s Romp is dedicated to Matt. We thank him for all that he has done for the Romp and the American Cancer Society. I feel honored to have known him and to have had the opportunity to work with him all of these years.”

Nolan went on to say, “Matt was such a force in our community. Please come out on December 11th and support this holiday tradition for the Havertown community in honor of Matt. The people who run, walk or simply cheer on their neighbors exemplify the power of positivity.”

Since the annual event began 23 years ago, it has raised over $450,000 for the American Cancer Society and has become a fun, community Holiday Tradition for residents and runners alike. To continue Matt’s legacy, please consider participating in the 2021 Reindeer Romp to raise money and awareness to fight cancer for the American Cancer Society. Each year, the Romp continues to need support to make this event a huge success for cancer patients and survivors alike.
