Nolan Painting Recognized as One of the 50 Most Community-Minded Employers in the Greater Philadelphia Region
Havertown, PA, June 24, 2022 – The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia hosted by Philadelphia Foundation has announced 50 of the most community-minded organizations in the Tri-State area and Nolan Painting, Inc. is among them.
The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia 2022 honorees is made up of both private and public companies and other employers operating in the Philadelphia region. They have been selected based on four dimensions of their community engagement program:
- Investment of resources
- Integration across business functions
- Institutionalization through policies and systems
- Impact measurement
Since 2011, The Civic 50 has provided a national standard for superior corporate citizenship and has showcased how companies use their time, skills and other resources to drive social impact in their business and community.
“It is an honor to be recognized for helping accelerate positive change in the community where we live and work,” said CEO Kevin Nolan. “Supporting the community in which we serve is at the core of who we are,” said Nolan. “Since 2015, we have committed to giving $1 million to community-based organizations and nonprofits over a ten-year period. Our ‘Nolan in The Neighborhood’ community initiative focuses on education, environmental initiatives, health and fitness causes, and historical societies.”
Nolan Painting included in its survey submission one case study that identified its partnership with The American Red Cross where they host three blood drives annually together. A Red Cross representative works with Nolan every step of the way to helps make the drives successful. The Red Cross brings the equipment and supplies, confidentially screens donors and collects the donations safely and professionally. All donations supply patients in need at local hospitals.
Nolan Painting hosted blood drives in January, May, and October. The drives are held in their conference room at their Havertown offices or at a nearby Church. The company started hosting blood drives over 10 years ago.
“We found that many of our employees and customers wanted to donate blood and hosting at our offices made this easier for them,” said Nolan. “Many of our donors are Nolan employees and customers.” The need for blood is constant, and this is another way Nolan Painting contributes and gives back to the local communities.
From April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, Nolan Painting hosted 3 blood drives: May 2021, September 2021 and January 2022. During that time, Nolan employees donated 21 pints of blood. Eighty-four community service/paid-time-off hours were given to employees for blood donations.
“Philadelphia Foundation is proud to recognize Nolan Painting’s outstanding civic engagement,” said Pedro Ramos, President and Chief Executive Officer of Philadelphia Foundation. “All of the 2022 honorees have demonstrated great passion and dedication to making a meaningful impact in the local communities they serve. It is this type of commitment that resonates throughout a region and sets the standard for corporate stewardship. We thank Nolan Painting for their efforts and congratulate them on this exciting honor.”
The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia honorees were officially recognized on Thursday, June 23rd, at a celebratory event at the AmerisourceBergen Corporate Headquarters located in Conshohocken, PA.
