Philadelphia Business Journal Recognizes Nolan Painting as the 23rd Largest Family Business

October 6, 2022 — The Philadelphia Business Journal recognizes Nolan Painting as one of the largest family-owned businesses in the Greater Philadelphia area. 77 companies made it to The List and Nolan Painting ranked as number 23.

Painting people’s homes are what we do best. We provide an amazing painting experience for our customers, delivered by our fantastic employees. Our company continues to grow year after year and our friendly, skilled painters do every job right, on time; and most importantly, we stand behind our work.

Nolan Painting paints over 2,500 residential homes a year and we’ve been doing this for over 40 years. And as you can see in our online Google reviews we have lots and lots of satisfied customers. The secret of our success is making sure both our employees and customers are happy. I don’t think there’s a company out there that provides better customer service and employee satisfaction than Nolan Painting.

I want to share with you the story of how we grew to become the largest residential painting company, not just in the Philadelphia region—but in the entire country. It all started 40+ years ago while I was still a student at Villanova. I graduated, kept painting, married my college sweetheart and never really looked back. I remember when my dad asked me what my plan was after college, I told him: “Dad, I’m going to keep painting.” And he always said, “As long as you’re the best painter, that’s a good thing.” So that was my intention — to grow the business, do the best possible job that we possibly could do for my customers, and have the best possible employees by treating them well. As a matter of fact, to be the best in the business is one of our taglines and is in our mission statement.

Over the years, my family joined the Nolan team — brother-in-laws, nieces and eventually my four kids. At Nolan, we believe in family. We regularly recruit the friends and family of our current employees. We figure that if our teammates are good, honest folks, chances are their friends and family members will be too.
