“Nolan In The Neighborhood”, Supports Local Organizations and Events Throughout Southeast Pennsylvania
At Nolan Painting, we feel a strong connection to the community. With a commitment to the greater good, our community program, Nolan in the Neighborhood, focuses on supporting the neighborhoods in which we live and work. For over 45 years, we are proud to continue to be recognized as a great community partner.
Our “Nolan in The Neighborhood” community initiative focuses on education, environmental initiatives, health and fitness causes, and historical societies. Beginning in 2015, we committed to giving $1 million to community-based organizations and nonprofits over a ten-year period. Members of the Nolan in the Neighborhood committee meet weekly to discuss the sponsorship and support requests we receive.
About Nolan in the Neighborhood
From charity runs to auctions and cleanups to tree plantings, we support a variety of community events and organizations. Typically, we sponsor events promoting health, education, and the environment, and we also make an effort to support causes that are important to our employees and our customers.
We support organizations in various ways, typically with a monetary donation and other times in the form of donated labor or volunteer efforts. We sponsor and attend many races, concerts in the park, festivals, and sporting events throughout the Montgomery County, Delaware County, Philadelphia County, Bucks County, and Chester County. To meet our neighbors and customers, we attend may of the in-person events that we sponsor. We try to add value by way of providing popcorn, water, and gatorade to participants. This is especially appreciated at warm road races! Employees are strongly encouraged to participate and volunteers receive comp time toward vacation time.
We also offer gift certificates for a free Nolan Painting Painter for A Day™ as prizes and awards for silent auctions. When choosing what to support, we consider the causes important to our employees and customers, as well as other worthy causes.
Since 2000, Nolan Painting has been the presenting sponsor of the Reindeer Romp, a charity race in Havertown raising funds for the American Cancer Society. Kevin Nolan, Founder and Chairman, serves as Race Director of the Reindeer Romp and has played a large role in putting on many other charity races including the Main Line Run for Main Line Chamber’s Emergency Responders Scholarship Program, Haverford Education Foundation Twilight Run, Haverford YMCA Gobble Wobble, and the Edgemont Fire Company Monster Dash. making many other serving as Race Director.
Check Out Some Of The Community Organizations We Are Proud To Support:
Reindeer Romp
The Reindeer Romp is a 5K run and walk held in memory of Brandon Lake, a local Havertown boy who lost his fight against cancer. Since its inception in 2000, the event has raised over $560,000 for the American Cancer Society. One hundred percent of all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. Nolan Painting is the presenting sponsor of this event and company Founder, Kevin Nolan, is the event organizer. Almost our entire workforce participates in putting the event on successfully each year.
Bryn Mawr Twilight Concert Series
Lower Merion Township Parks and Recreation organizes this wonderful summer concert series at the Bryn Mawr Gazebo on Saturday evenings at 7 pm. Concerts are held rain or shine and concertgoers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Picnics are welcome! We collect voluntary donations for Alex’s Lemonade at these events as we give out popcorn and lemon/lime gatorade.
American Red Cross Blood Drives
We’ve partnered with the American Red Cross for over 10 years offering 3 blood drives a year. The need for blood is constant and we are compelled to create opportunities for our employees and customers to help.
Pennsy Trail Adoption
In 2024, we adopted the Pennsy Trail in Havertown. Nolan Painting volunteers help to keep the trail clean of trash, debris, and invasive plant overgrowth. We have also had group planting events, planting trees and shrubbery along the trail. Many of our Havertown office staff use the Pennsy trail regularly, and we are happy to contribute to the success of the path.
“We are absolutely immersed in the communities where we work and live. We have an obligation to give back and proudly contribute both time and money to support the causes we care about.” —Kevin Nolan, Founder and Chairman, Nolan Painting
